Lush #willamettevalley #pinotnoir with a muted cherry compote and faint baking spice nose. It’s on the palate that this PN greets you with an outpouring of stewed cherry wrapped in a luscious texture plus enticing acidity ending in delicate tannins. While there isn’t the fantastic aromatics you expect from greater examples from the region, it’s has substantial QPR for ~$11 on sale at Total Wine. — 4 years ago
Fuller bodied #pinotblanc from #mcminnville #willamettevalley with soft citrus nose, some caramel, luscious mouthfeel, nutty notes balanced with acidity and no oak. Great wine to branch out if you are a cool-climate Cali Chardonnay lover. — 4 years ago
Marvelous QPR #willamettevalley #pinotnoir. Tart cherry, forest floor, some mushroom notes. Lovely sour cherry fruit continues on palate, imminently food friendly, elegant cuvée, silky tannins on finish. What a bargain at $13 #costcowines — 9 months ago

Ruby hue with fuchsia rim variation. Medium tearing. Bright red fruit on the nose; notes of cherries, strawberry rhubarb, raspberry, violet, dried rose, wet slate, and potting soil. Delicate leather and dusty notes on the palate. Light and vibrant Willamette Valley Pinot with loads of red fruit characteristics and moderate acidity that dances on the palate. ABV 14.1%. Vintage 2017.

Only a few weeks after tasting this at my new favorite Houston restaurant, I was delighted to see this at Costco for ~$15. Same tasting notes apply; my thoughts here are it’s a commendable balance from a lightly extracted elegant style and a more forceful richer style reflected in a lovely creamy texture. Plenty of tension preceded by those aromatics beg for food pairing so no surprise this wine graces the smart sommelier wine lists. A once in a lifetime pandemic might be the reason the #willamettevalley #pinotnoir lover gets to buy this at a bargain retail price while also enjoying it at a fine dining restaurant. — 4 years ago
I’ll be the first to admit that #willamettevalley #pinotnoir on the label automatically suggests “great wine” - so I had some elevated expectations on this one. Unfortunately even after decanting for a while this one exudes a oxidative prunish nose that obscures a creamy medium-bodied Pinot with dark cherry, raspberry notes and precise tannins. So much of the Pinot Noir experience is in the aroma so this wine is flawed. — 4 years ago
Fainter cherry, wet stone, graphite aromas. Stronger red fruit on the palate than the soft aroma would suggest yet still graceful, juicy tartness, touch of smoke on the finish with gossamer tannins. Elegant QPR champ #willamettevalley #pinotnoir here. — 4 years ago
