Peaches and passion fruit. Fruit forward — 2 years ago
Tasted this about a year ago. This second bottle does not have the wow factor like the first one. The nose is less fragrant and more meaty, and the palate a bit more herbal and angular, which is probably true to the varietal. Still a very complex wine. Have 1 bottle left and hopefully I can keep my hands off for another 2-3 years.
250 cases, and I believe the wine maker for the vintage is Bevan. Bennett Valley is the smallest, and probably the least known Sonoma sub AVA. — 4 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2015 Judge Family Vineyard Syrah pours a deep, inky, ruby/purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with pungent notes of bacon fat, dark brambles, toasted blueberry crisp, lavender, dried green herbs and fine baking spice. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is aging slowly and gracefully. This remains my favorite Syrah made in the United States. Drink now through 2045. — 21 days ago
Great spring and summer Chard, flavorful and not overpowering. Great with a meal. — 2 years ago
Polished domestic Merlot. Very savory on the nose. Almost classic Bordeaux in style , green olive and olive tapenade. Oregano and thyme with just a hint of oak hut not overly in your face. Beautiful inky hue. Lots of great tannin and acidity on the backbone of this wine. Plenty of room to keep aging. Blackberries and blueberries upfront. Fantastic finish that lingers without feeling big heat. Very well balanced at 14.5% — 2 years ago
Dark cherry and spice nose. More dark cherry on the palate with cola, plum, cooked strawberry, cinnamon, clove, oak, with a hint of cocoa. Medium plus alcohol, medium minus tannins, and high alcohol. — 3 years ago

2024 vintage. Lighter but with concentration for days. A different style with a suggestion of limoncello. Generally dislike Sauvie B but this came to play and was the standout of this year’s Bevan Cellars releases I tasted (3 whites/7 reds). 08.22.25 — 2 days ago
