Took 3 hours and was unforgiving when initially opened but then at 3 hours it was heavenly. Just classy beyond belief and a pillow on your palate with incredible fruit. Elite finesse and had that X factor. It was better than an 08 Roumier Les Cras that I had a sip of. I think I’d wait 2-3 more years on these or decant for 3 hours. — 2 years ago

Venge Bone Ash is just so consistent. No corners or sharp edges to negotiate. Smooth and textured, displaying coffee, black fruits, moderate sweetness, and a tannic structure, which tilts beyond medium. Consumed across two days, and it behaved across both. — 4 years ago

1997 Jones Family, the year prior to TRB taking the helm and yet still a fantastic Napa vintage that is singing.

For me, this is classically styled Napa Cabernet. This is still not descending. Has another 5-8 years of good drinking and perhaps beyond.

Showing dark, meaty, dry, velvety tannins. Dark currants-blackberries, black raspberries, black plum skin, raspberries, plum pudding, chocolate mousse/cake, caramel, mocha powder, dark spice, dry top soil, dry, crushed rocks, anise, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, clove, vanillin, used leather, graphite, dry stone, volcanic clay, withering, dark, red, purple flowers, excellent round acidity and a well made, balanced, nicely tensioned, elegant finish that lasts two-minutes and falls onto earth & spice. — a month ago

Starts off with a very evolved fruity character, but that quickly blows off.
Lovely purity beyond that - fresh black currant, with a bit of darker, earthy undergrowth, some red fruit, a hint of cedar wood, a touch of bell pepper. A bit evolved yet still juicy & pure.
Beautiful mouthfeel with nicely evolved, slightly mellowed yet still juicy tannins, evolved fruit yet still fresh acidity.
This is peeking or already has peeked but today is drinking so nicely!

2013 vintage. Pretty much identical to @Shay A's beyond excellent notes on this wine from 03.31.23. This was from an infuriatingly custom 5L bottle tho. Super-youthful. From this format? An easy 15-20 years of life. From a standard 750ml format? 12-15 years of great drinking. Right in line with Central Coast red Rhône blend/varietals usual ABV%. Reddish in color with light intensity.

Nice and elegant nose of red fruits with chocolate notes.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, red currants, earth, light wood, spices and coffee.

Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This young, 4 year old Barolo, is already drinking nicely, even by itself.
Well balanced and elegant.

This 2020 vintage was great for Barolo, and is very approachable right now. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years and beyond.

I've had the 2015 vintage a few years ago, and this vintage is drinking better. Complex with a soft mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and better with some airtime. A good sipping wine, and will pair nicely with food too.

A blend from three different Nebbiolo Vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba. Aged in large oak barrels for 2 years.

14% alcohol by volume.
