Grand Vintage Brut Champagne Blend 2006

A nice way to toast my daughter’s 33rd Birthday! Blend of Chardonnay (42%), Pinot Noir (39%) and Meunier (18%). Straw gold color. Ripe apple hits both the nose and palate immediately with additional notes of pie and bread dough, lemon, apricot, white flowers and fresh herbs. Distinct chalky/nutty note on the finish. Rich and full bodied. Acidity was a bit lighter than expected. Quite dry but extremely fruit forward. A bit lacking in effervescence and mousse but still quite enjoyable. Thank you for sharing and Happy Birthday, Kase! — 12 days ago

Grand Vintage Brut Champagne Rosé Blend 2006

#AgedWineTuesday

Dark copper in color.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity, and small bubbles.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouth feel.

Showing raspberries, lemons, apples, cherries, brioche, light earth, herbs, light yeast and white pepper.

Long finish with tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Rosé Champagne with some nice age. This 19-year-old is drinking beautifully now. Elegant and rich with tiny bubbles.

A little tight right out of the bottle, and needs time to show the complexity, especially on the nose. Easy drinking and needs 30 minutes in the decanter to open up properly.

Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

Wine Spectator 93 points. Wine Advocate 94 points.

Good by itself or with food. I enjoyed it with black caviar.

A blend of 47% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier. Disgorged in 2013.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$130.

Impérial Brut Réserve Champagne Blend

This is a delightful and classic champagne. It has a lot of the yeasty character to complement it’s fruit and a lovely, fine mousse. But personally, what always moves me about this wine is remembering that it was the one my late brother always used to drink with his partner. Every time I have it, it lets me feel like I am celebrating with him again. — 4 months ago

Exceptional Methode Traditionnelle California Brut White Blend

A gift from Align F. Really delicious to us, will get again. Less sweet preferred than some champagnes I’ve had. W liked even with fading bubbles. No vintage listed on bottle. It says grape blend is chard, p noir, and meunier. — 4 months ago
