Surprisingly good fruit and balanced tannins in 2024 for the 2018 vintage. Substantially better than when drunk two years earlier. $24. — 3 months ago
Выпито 17.01.21 в той же компании. Самый старый зинфандель - 2007 год, выпитый мной. Куплен в Вильнюсе у Арунаса. Достаточно крепкое 14,1%, чувствуются дубовые танины. Очень необычное. — 4 years ago
One of the last couple vintages from the master, and while it won’t be as legendary as the finale of 2015 (which is one to hold), the cool 2014 vintage has been managed beautifully, and allows for early drinking. After 2 hours in the decanter it’s wonderfully expressive and aromatic wafting layers of kirsch cherries, saddle leather, camphor and violets. The palate shows striking richness and an impeccable balance of elegance, ripeness and concentration, which is quite the feat in this vintage.
When you think of vintages in Rhône that are considered to be less heralded, such as 2008 for example, typicites just don’t exist for the likes of Bonneau and Rayas. (08 happens to be one of my favorites for both). Ultimately there are no bad vintages for Bonneau, just different ones. Beautiful wine. — a month ago
Medium gold in color, slightly darker than the 86 Bonneau du Martray next to it. Heavy in the glass. Sweet floral nose. Notes of sweet kiwi fruit, lemon curd, apple cider and white acacia flowers. Lacked acidity at first but with many hours of air this powered up. Last sip was the best. I preferred the other whites to this, but was happy to see this improve so much during the evening. We discussed this being Vincent Leflaive’s last vintage, and sadly this was the last bottle in my cellar of 86 Leflaive. (Bday 4 of 12) — 3 years ago
A punchy nose with struck match, honeyed lime. Stone and flint. Rick and great acidity subtly laced throughout. Excellent — 3 months ago
