In honor of Boots tonight! Was holding it for a special occasion...couldn’t imagine a great opportunity. The wine is gorgeous, great freshness, touch of eucalyptus, dried herbs...dense! and savory. full of life, just getting going in fact. great wine to honor a great woman. — 5 years ago
Cubillo is a beautiful anomaly in a sea of $25 wines.
It’s the youngest of the lot, but the signature stamp is there, so obviously LDH Tempranillo.
Velvet milk chocolate, ripe black cherries, brand new leather boots. Rich and loaded with cocoa and coffee and raisiny red berries.
It looks like motor oil. Heck it has almost a decade in bottle. Plenty of acid to smooth out over time.
We should be stock piling this - quality and price don’t intersect so well very often. — 3 years ago
Amazing 44 year old Cabernet!! So well preserved with layers of fruit and soft tannins. It continued to open up for over two hours. The palate coating flavors with minimal oak showing gave us a treat worth having for our anniversary. Notice Al Brounstein signed this hand blown Magnum for us. A tribute to Al and “Boots “ their wine lives on.🍷🍷🍷 — 5 years ago
Always a pleasure to taste well aged mountain Cabernet from the historic Monte Rosso vineyard, and even better with some of that red volcanic dust on my boots, dark color for its age, still tart with plenty of that earthy spice that is the hallmark of this vineyard. What a joy! — 6 years ago

Here is a nicely aged Australian Grenache for #AgedWineTuesday.
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity.
Great nose of blueberries, cherries, licorice, citrus, cedar, leather, light vanilla, tobacco, chocolates and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, light vegetables, earth, cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, dark coffee, dark chocolates and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a great surprise. I did not see that coming. This Australian Grenache tastes like an aged Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Great Complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Good by itself or with food. Good right out of the bottle and better after 30 minutes of airtime.
This 18 year old is soft, smooth and elegant. Tasty and interesting.
I paired it with lamb chops and heavy appetizers.
15% alcohol by volume.
