Beetje rokerig, maar ook bloemig — 6 months ago
Deep, Rich, and elegant. The wine actually feels more viscous than normal, and it’s just heavily perfumed and flavored and thick in your mouth. It absolutely feels like chewing on a handful of fresh blue and red fruit mixed together. Perfume of violet and Queen Anne roses, as it faded over time it actually became a much more elegant and approachable wine. Absolutely delicious. — 10 months ago
Blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Dark and inky ruby/purple color. Aromas of ripe red and black fruit, purple flowers, baking spices and a light touch of vanilla. Juicy flavors of dark cherry, black berry/currant and raspberry fruit with additional notes of chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cedar. A bit of black pepper spice on the long finish. Medium body and acidity with very smooth tannins. Well balanced and versatile. Solid quality for the price. — 2 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The C+C BdB Extra Brut pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of white peach, green apple, lemon bar, brioche, marzipan, and chalky minerals. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is super creamy. This is an outstanding NV champagne based on the 2019 vintage. Just over 7000 bottles produced. Drink now through 2034. Disgorged in July of 2020. — 6 months ago
A fresh and young 2021. Tight acids, lots of bright tannins. Hasn’t mellowed into Nebbiolo brick and tar yet, but good. Lots of dried roses, thyme, flinty, touch of prune and baking spice. From Fermented Grapes. 12/10/2022 — 3 years ago
I love Dakota Shy wines, and this is an excellent one. Decanted for several hours. Inky dark purple. Full-bodied, rich, and complex. Dark chocolate, plums, cassis, and a hint of vanilla. Long finish. Fabulous now, but still has a lot of cellaring potential. — 9 months ago
Prunes, dusty rose. Great structure. Lingers forever. — 5 years ago

Truncated cookout notes. Damn this is spectacular. The flavor density and balance is so old school. The nose is ethereal. None of that 15% alc. chocolately bullshit that now seems to permeate Napa Cab orthodoxy.
UPDATE: Next morning, the wine long gone, I’m sitting here watching college football highlights from yesterday still thinking about how much I liked this. There’s usually only one wine per year that has that effect on me. — a month ago
