Outstanding alpine nebbiolo from the Carema co-op, a gorgeous wine value for any Piedmont or nebbiolo fan. Elegant, typical of Carema, with the classic notes of cherry, currants, tar and roses. Supple structure, med body, med/med+ acids and tannin, med+ flavor intensity and finish. — 6 days ago

Opened it before the Russian central bank unexpectedly left the interest rate unchanged. Hence a boost to the rating ;) — 2 months ago
20241111 Rest. Antico Torre Barbaresco with Wakano
Really very nice wine, deep red and brownish color with rhubarb taste and some note of dates for nose and tonghue.
Love it!

I think Produttori’s langhe is one of all time best values every year and this is no exception. This has great red and a smidge of purple fruit. Tannins are quite present but with a bit of air they fall into balance (though this could certainly take time). Excellent pairing with a simple but high quality pork chop. Very nice acid on the finish. Really enjoyable. — a month ago

From magnum. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2015 Riserva “Montestefano” pours a bright garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of ripe red and dark fruits: Morello cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, roses, tar, tobacco, and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This was such a fun ride as the hours rolled by and while it is really delicious now, there is a long future yet ahead. Drink now through 2040. Bottle No. 1303/1982. — 4 days ago
