Gratitude Olsen Brothers Vineyard Red Blend 2018

Ruby in color with medium plus intensity.

Fruity nose and medium plus in body.

Dry on the palate with medium acidity.

Showing red fruits with earth, light wood, spices, coffee, black tea, metals and peppercorn.

Short and tangy finish with tart raspberries and soft tannins.

This 7 year old Mourvedre blend from Yakima Valley is still drinking nicely, although a little past its prime. Soft and smooth. Elegant and fruit forward.

This Single Vineyard GSM blend is elegant and feels more like a like Southern Rhone red. Nicely balanced with nice complexity.

A blend of 70% Mourvedre, 25% Grenache and 5% Syrah.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

Wallufer Walkenberg Spätlese Riesling 2021

A mammoth, chiseled beast of a wine that really needs extensive decanting and/or aging. Despite a modest decant, imagine am tasting a tease of its true potential. — 6 months ago

Les Pouches Saumur Chenin Blanc 2018

Cool simple bottle and label. A screw-top with class. Color is golden straw. Aromas of lemons and honey. Hint of freshly scrubbed flagstone patios. Flavors are lemon water, honeydew melon and jasmine tea. This is like all the good things in non-buttery Chardonnay mixed with the minerality and zing of Sauv Blanc. It’s fuller, denser and more elegant than most CA Chenin Blanc I’ve had. It’s also a white that seems to age nicely. If I could find it somewhere around here, it would join the short list for go to whites. — 5 days ago

B. Thieriot Vineyard Chardonnay

Golden straw color with lemon rind and white flowers on the nose. Light citrus, minerals, modest acidity and a touch of oak. Layered, balanced and wonderfully site-specific. — 2 months ago

Les Amidyves Côtes du Ventoux Grenache Blend 2011

9.0

Thought all gone. Interesting take of Grenache and Syrah from Ventoux with a solid medium bodied still robust palate. Unfortunately it kinda overpowered the mixed menu of various eats. — 4 days ago

Start to finish luxurious! Bouquet, color, and legs are amazing. Delicious with matured flavors of vanilla, apple, and a hint of pear! Finish is long and velvety. Enjoy!! — 3 months ago

Olsen Brothers Vineyard Syrah 2016

Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of black and blue fruit, violets, roasted meat, spices, wet stones and tobacco. Flavors of blackberry, blueberry, black raspberry, roasted herbs, black pepper and black olives. Long and savory finish. Complex and very “Northern Rhône-like.” Full bodied, lively and just the right amount of tannin. Excellent! — 6 months ago
