Comte Des Cos

Comte Armand

Clos des Epeneaux Monopole Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Tasted blind. Medium light garnet , showing more age than wine 1 , quite wide garnet terracotta rim . More spice , with a sweet tobacco , dried raspberry , some cherry and earthy herbal , black tea notes . This is more tertiary than 1 wine . On the palate this also has quite high acidity, lightly gritty tannin with dried cherry , herbal hints . Quite fresh herbal tinged finish . Ok length . This improved quite a bit with air , showing more fruit and floral character after a while . This is probably close to peak drinking now but no rush should continue to show well over the next 5-10 years or so — 6 days ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Rim to rim no waver. Slightest bricking. Nose of earth, chocolate, cedar, violet. Palate showing grainy tannins and bing cherry shrouded in black currant with red currant emergent. Black mushrooms have a showy cameo with a chocolate-tobacco high kick. The wine is slightly green and just slightly aggressive though thoroughly enjoyable in every sense. Give this one a couple more years, even if most 10s are showing. Enormous energy with black cherry riding out the sunset.

Domaine Comte Abbatucci

Faustine Vieilles Vignes Sciacarello Nielluccio 2020

Spicy, light, fresh yet with quite some character. Fresh red fruit (strawberries & cherries) with a spice undercore.
On the palate this is light yet with presence and a nice tannic frame. I wasn’t expecting this fragility, but it’s really nice. And despite the lightness this has presence and character.
A lovely wine!

Château de Pibarnon (Comte de Saint Victor)

Bandol Rosé Blend 2022

Light orange in color.

Light nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing raspberries, strawberries, currants, lemons, peaches, spices, sea salt and light earth.

Tangy finish with grapefruits and limes.

This is a young Rosé from Bandol. Spicy and fruit forward. Elegant with a soft mouthfeel.

Nicely balanced and already showing nice complexity.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself as a sipping wine.

A blend of 70% Mourvedre and 30% Cinsault from 45 year old vines.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$40.
