St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Drinking surprisingly well considering its youth. Hard to beat Cathy’s style in Napa. — 15 days ago

Helios Cabernet Franc Sunbasket Vineyard 2018

For those of you that like really nice Franc that is balanced, smooth and has finesse, this is for you! I absolutely loved this. The nose alone (florals and fruit) will captivate. Enjoyed over 3 days. — 4 years ago

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Still packing a tannic punch, fruit is very much in the background. A little disjointed at this point? Will wait a while on my other bottles. This was my favorite vintage at first taste. — 7 days ago

Corazón Wirz Vineyard Riesling 2023

Medium body, vibrant color with green hues and a pronounced nose of green mango, wet stone and some straw or a slight grassy element. Really a beautiful dry Riesling, with the mineral, green and grassy elements continuing on the palate with a slight acidity. — 4 months ago

Sunbasket Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Just as excellent on Mauna Kea at 13,800-ft as it is at the hotel. Deep blue and black fruit notes, great with smoke, long finish and the contrast to the Kronos of the same vintage — a month ago

Kronos Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Montepeloso

Gabbro Toscana Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

This is what every Cabernet Sauvignon should taste like. Despite being from Italy instead of California, this Cabernet has the richness of a Corison or other top Cabernet Sauvignon, but for less money. Deep intense stewed fruit to start with plum and blackberry, rich earthiness, chocolate and tobacco, then perfect tannins to finish. And aged just the right amount now to smooth out the tannins. Buy some if you can find it. At $67.50, this Cabernet Sauvignon was an extraordinary value. — a year ago
