The Roost Blue Heron Vineyard Chardonnay 2021

Pale lemon color with aromas of stone fruits and blossom and spice, aged 14 months in (25% new) French oak. On the palate flavors of apple and pear with a touch of zesty lemon, crisp, with cinnamon and vanilla notes. Nice mouthfeel, vivid acidity, medium+ finish ending with fruit, vanilla and earthy citrus mineral character. Biodynamic, Nice! — 6 months ago

Soft Red Chateau Series Red Blend

2nd Idaho wine, found at Robin’s Roost Grocery Store in Island Park ID.

Unknown varietal %, off-dry, full body, soft & fruity.

This is a good wine, though the Love Idaho Red is a closer match for me.

Maison Albert Bichot

Les Charmes Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay 2019

2019 vintage. Previously enjoyed less than 2 weeks ago (9.2 rating on 8.19.23). Big, heavy white that got a decant before tasting. Enjoyed over the course of an hour. Medium/medium-heavy body. All the smoky, toasty, vanilla, mineral qualities in the nose bridged the strait and made it into the flavors with the mineral component ultimately ruling the roost...er...glass. Long-lived producer so it was much too early to crack this particular egg. Give it a half-decade-at least. 8.31.23. — a year ago
