Boisrenard Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc White Rhone Blend 2022

Light gold in color.

Aromatic nose of flowers, citrus, lemons, apples, earth, herbs and spices.

Full-bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with citrus, limes, green apples, herbs, earth, spices and minerals.

Tangy finish with limes and herbs.

This is a delicious and spicy White blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Complex and interesting.

Showing a surprisingly complex nose for its age. Elegant and nicely balanced.

Still young, but already engaging, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

This special Cuvée from a great vintage in Southern Rhone, is neither bitter nor tart, and a great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with food.

A blend of Grenache, Roussanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul Blanc and Picard, all from Old Vines. A small production of only 4,000 bottles. Aged for 6 months in used oak barrels.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

v21. Very good!! Decant a bit. White pepper and cedar nose. Juicy, rich, dark dark berry and raspberry fruit. Long, smooth, slightly chalky and bitter mocha finish. Nice food wine. — 7 days ago

Heri-Hodie 1er Cru Champagne Blend

An underrated producer, in my opinion, though my first time with the Heri-Hodie cuvée.

100% Pinot meunièr; perpetual reserve in stainless since 1995; 3g/l dosage; disgorged March 2023

I’ve said it before, but meunièr can really strut its stuff via perpetual reserve/solera style. The natural fruit forward tendency of the grape with the oxidative character of the aging profile marry really well. My benchmarks for this style are Mousse Fils L’Or de Eugene and Delouvin’s Perpetual…both of those show a bit more richness and spiced cider, whereas the stainless steel here provides a brighter lift. Needed a few hours in bottle to open, lots of red apple, yellow citrus and orange zest, and cinnamon aromatically. Trending toward golden apple and pear on the palate, this has a kiss of honeyed richness on the mid-palate before the limestone mineral takes over at the finish. Tasty.
