La Côte des Monts Damnés Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Last had this 10 months ago. I think it's on the decline since then. Grapefruit, melon, citrus. Lacking acidity, it's a bit flabby. That's not what I remember in the last bottle. Anyway, it's nice with some fresh caught walleye.

Seems logical. Haven’t had this one unfortunately but 18s there were mostly too ripe and fleshy to age. But many were fun in their youth! Walleye! Think I’ve had that only once (had to give a presentation in Sturgeon Bay) a few years ago.

Better than you can imagine if you have had. Creamy, just a touch of butter, understated caramel, hint of toffee, round acidity with length & balance for days. — 3 months ago

Les Monts Damnés Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2024 “Les Monts Damés” pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with white flowers, grapefruit, star fruit, alfalfa, and cream cheese stuffed poblano pepper. There’s also this Double Bubble thing going on. Wild stuff. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. In a world of increasing ambiguity, I love that this is immediately identifiable as Sancerre. Drink now through 2034+. — 4 months ago
