One of the bottles we brought back from our stay in the Lot region. Opened 1 hour and 30 minutes before serving. Served over a charcoal grilled super ribeye piece. Great pairing!
Very different take on cahors than the ones we tasted over there. Oak, chocolate, cassis, blackberry, cherry, a menthol thing too. Very inviting and complex. The palate shows a very long acid drive, some nice matter, a soft mouthfeel, some cherry, chocolatey and blackberry notes, some typical grainy, dusty tannins, and a long, everlasting finish with that dusty layer, some cherry, an oaky note reminiscent of the nose and a nice, delicate, savoury touch in the rear, with a very nice pinch of umami to make it great. Less extracted than expected (and than Le cèdre cuvée I had a few years ago), an elegant, modern Cahors. Great stuff! — 2 months ago

A lot of pleasure on this intense red cherry red fruit wine, with coated tannins, balanced by a dry character and a beautiful mineral tension that gives a very beautiful structure. The whole is arbitrated by a well-melted aging with smoky notes, cedar, tobacco. 2017 is just ready to drink

Beaucoup de plaisir sur ce vin fruits rouges griottes intenses, aux tanins enrobés, contrebalancés par un caractère sec et une belle tension minérale qui donne une très belle structure. Le tout est arbitré par un élevage bien fondu aux notes fumées, cèdre, tabac. 2017 est tout juste assez fondu pour être bu. — 2 years ago

Ruby colour, of medium intensity. Nose dominated by oak and spices: vanilla, sweet tobacco, fennel, cedar. A beginning of evolution blends with oak notes. With good aeration, the wine is set up. In the mouth, the attack is fresh and liquoriced, adjusting the balance with a clearly assumed ageing. Medium body. Finals with persistent tannins.

Robe rubis, d’intensité moyenne. Nez prédominé par l’élevage et les épices: vanille, tabac doux, fenouil, cèdre. Un début d’évolution se fond aux notes tertiaires. Avec une bonne aération le vin se met en place. En bouche l’attaque est fraiche et réglissée, réglant l’équilibre avec un élevage clairement assumé. Corps moyen. Finales aux tanins persistants. Intense notes of strawberry, raspberry, smoke, eucalyptus, dried herbs, dried rose. Very nice aromatic bouquet. The whole is in balance. 2015 is perfectly ready to drink.

En bouche le corps et demi corsé - , c’est fondu et d’une grande finesse, rappelant le raffinement de la Bourgogne; acidité moyenne. Notes intenses de fraise, framboise, fumée, eucalyptus, aromates, herbes séchées, rose séchée. Très beau bouquet aromatique.
