Linda Falls Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.

Full bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate and complex. Elegant and rich.

Showing red and blue fruits with light wood, spices, coffee, earth, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn and light vegetables.

Nice length on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Soft and smooth, spicy and entertaining.

This 8 year old feels a little muted at the moment, and needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years, and shows good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

Fruity, easy drinking, and a great sipping wine, that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in new and neutral French oak barrels for 3 years.

14% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$220.

Private Reserve Georges de Latour Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

2021 vintage. Tasted via Coravin. So the deals definitely afoot in Napa (and elsewhere in CA) currently. This was light-medium/medium body. Not the biggest Cabernet footprint on the delicate palate. But wow...immediately engaging and intimate simultaneously. Having tasted the late 60's, some 70's, most of the 80's, and nearly all of the 90's-2010's vintages of this at some point...actually feel like this is the wine this property has always wanted to make since inception. It's pure, authentic, and pared to the bone. Zen-like. No fluff, no fat. Tasting a Cabernet like this reminds me (yet again) how bastardized things have truly gotten along CA Hwy 29. Picked up two 6-packs and we'll see how it does. Leaner and biting-playfully. So unlike nearly all Napa cabs these days so it comes across as a huge palate/Napa Cab market reset now. Have been able to take or leave BV over the decades compared to Phelps, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Dunn, Diamond Creek, Mondavi, Mayacamas, Heitz and the rest of the really old guard but blind taste this against any 2020 or newer Napa Cab and/or Bordeaux and see where it slots for you. 8.5.26. — 2 days ago

40 years birthday crazy party. So many 1986’s. No formal notes. This was bright and surprisingly fresh. My favorite of the evening. — a month ago

Morgeot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2020

A big red burgundy. Medium body, chewy medium tannins, high acid, medium alcohol, and a complex, long finish. Dark cherry, wild strawberry, plum, pomegranate, cinnamon, clove, and nice minerality. Definitely age worthy, but drinking well now. A real show stopper. — 2 months ago

Trailside Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1999

Decant for sediment(minimal) and pour. An amazing still deep dark purplish magenta with a little bricking. On the nose: Intoxicating perfumed notes of dark fruit, herbaceous, sandalwood, menthol, forest floor, smokey cedar. Taste: silky, classic, delicious wine with blackberry, dusty earth, charcoal, saline, and a spiced vanilla cedar long finish. YUM!! It's what's you want in a aged Napa cab with time to go. — 16 days ago

Clos des Poutures Monopole Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Some serious structure holding up a palate of smoky red fruits, cracked pepper, & violets, & yet drinks very integrated & svelte— the nine years of aging feel pitch perfect for drinking now. Short decant. Paired with a chorizo clam tomato based stew, asparagus & silken tofu salad w sesame dressing, and unfortunately, a Knicks finals loss. — 2 months ago

I er Cru Perrières Meursault Chardonnay 2019

Regal, powerful, rich, layered with minerality, 2019 Perrieres is fantastic, gaining weight and precision in the decanter and unfurling beautifully over the course of dinner. It’s laser focused, with both richness and clarity and the palate has such an elegant texture. Really lovely bottle. — 3 years ago
