Vieilles Vignes Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir 2021

I thought this was solid and paired well with the moussaka for dinner

Really good acidity. Some raspberry flavor and earthy notes. Responded well to salt.

Morey St. Denis Pinot Noir

Nose: a non horrible hint of Brett. Cherries. Cherry flowers. Brett goes away after a bit.

Palate: lovely sweet cherry fruit.

Well made.

Vieilles Vignes Morey-Saint-Denis Pinot Noir 2022

Way too young but it will develop into something quite remarkable! Bit darker than your average red Burgundy, wild strawberries, cherry, black raspberries, black tea, liquorice and spices. Highly concentrated and delicious. — 4 months ago

Bourgogne Passetoutgrains Gamay-Pinot Noir Blend 2022

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2022 Passetoutgrains pours a ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart berries, like a mixed berry jam. There’s also some red and purple flowers along with some underbrush and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium and has a nice juicy mineral finish. This might benefit from a little time on its side to gain a little more complexity but the quality is undeniable. Drink now through 2032. — 14 days ago

Just the right amount of tannin, as it opened up it started to show fresh red fruits — 3 months ago

Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2018

The 2018 “Clos de la Roche” pours a deep ruby/purple color with medium viscosity and light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful and shows a combination of tart and ripe red and dark fruits: raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, pepper, exotic spices, minerals and some fine wood. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This has an overall character of freshness and the fruit is so beautiful…but this is such a baby. While it shows its quality now, I won’t touch my next bottle for another 10 years. Better after 2035 (to my palate) and through 2058. — 3 days ago

Very nice but a little too unstructured — I preferred the Morey St Denis — 3 months ago
