Tenuta delle Terre Nere

Etna Bianco Carricante Blend 2023

Blend of blend of 60% Carricante, 25% Catarratto, 10% Grecanico and 5% Minnella, aged in French oak for 10 months. Pale lemon with aromas of stone and citrus fruits adding honeysuckle blossom. On the palate flavors of apple, apricot and lemon citrus with creamy vanilla wrapped in generous acidity, long finish ending with wet stone minerality. Nice! — 4 days ago

Great example of a super approachable ER. This is the wine that I typically introduce people to who haven’t yet had an ER. — 3 months ago

Sicilia Nero d'Avola 2022

Red fruit, young, fair amount minerality at least initially, interesting wine for the price. The tannins mellowed nicely after it had some time to breath. — 17 days ago

Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico Frappato Nero d'Avola 2020

Way better on day two after opening. A lot of earth and herbs. Plums, cherry, good amount of tannin. I feel like if this was distilled it would be fernet. There’s a lot of herbs and forest greenery, but it still manages to stay light and fruity enough to make it really enjoyable. Looking forward to trying more Sicilian wines. — 3 hours ago

Pietra Marina Etna Bianco Superiore Carricante 2015

French onion chicken pairing and some went into the dish. This bottle was a touch off from first opening. Missing some of the bright fruit flavors I expected based on past ‘15 and ‘16 and ‘17 bottles. — a month ago
