Made in a small town at foot of Sierra Cantabria in the DO. A single variety Tempranillo from 50 year old vines has a deep Ruby red color and aged for 18 months in French and American oak. Aromas of red fruit and spice. On the palate ripe black fruit, fine tannins, well balanced with a medium+ finish ending with fruit, spice and some oak notes. Nice! — 2 years ago
2003 vintage. Decently respectable Pauillac nose. Solid color still. Wine open for three hours. Leanest body I've ever had with a P-L and lacking the complexity usually associated with this wine. Tight and not giving up much at the 3 hr mark. Nice but disappointing given the producer/vintage combo. Wish I'd had 6 hrs to wait hand and foot on this...perhaps it would have totally revealed the expected P-L charms by then. — 4 years ago
Fantastic. Smooth even after just poured — 6 years ago
Ripe flavors of black cherry and raspberry that leads to a luscious finish. — 7 years ago
Located on the outskirts of the medieval town of Saint-Emilion, at the southern foot of the slope. A blend of 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, & 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, a lower Merlot blend (normally 70% in Saint-Emilion) allowing more for Cab Franc, enhanced by the warm soil. Wonderful, complex a Gem! Perfect now! Subtle fruit aromas accompanied by cedar & spice. The palate shows fresh ripe berry fruits, cacao and espresso notes. Well balanced, perfect tannins, a joy to drink. Tasting Sample. — 8 years ago
Like a Burgh - no difference. Franken Pinot (FP). Schlepped this all the way from this super remote winery my 2nd bottle. Stumbled onto this wine because Jancis Robinson recommended this (after all she used to be the Sommelier of the Queen of England). Suitcase import. 13.5% world class - really. Roses on the nose. In the glass faint cherries, blackberries, elderberry (just bought a plant we used to make jam), red currants. Back palate hard to define Za'atar (the plant) - Screw Cap (a strange choice for such quality juice). I know this wine is inaccessible for most folks on this website - sorry. But Franken is a very interesting wine region. The soil is by the way limestone - so it is classic for Pinot. I walked the vineyards - very off the beaten path - even for Germany. — 8 months ago
Classic Riesling, tangy lime acidity clean crisp finish and holding up exceptionally. — 2 years ago
Pretty good for the price, dry with dark fruits — 6 years ago
One of my favourite Champagnes. At the Come Taste the Stars Dinner hosted by Tyson Stelzer. 100% Pinot Noir. Barely a foot of top soil before the roots enter the chalk. Incredibly minerality. Egly prefers NV to vintage for the Blanc de Noirs. Disgorged 2018 with 6 years on Lees. A blend of 2010 and 2011 both average vintages incredibly. Full bodied and powerful. Stunning. Amazing value compared to the Krug Clos de Ambonnay at $4500 and 10 times the price of the Egly. — 7 years ago
A treat, paired with Colorado beef tenderloin, wilted chard, mushrooms, and parsnip purée. Big, brash tannins that stood up to the charred edges of the steak. A lot of dark fruit with a touch of (good) funk. Off the beaten path for sure...need to go find some more — 8 years ago
2005 vintage. Perfect fill and cork. Decanted and tasted after three hours. Medium/heavy body. Bashful nose but fantastic color. Oodles of graphite and plum jockeying for the palate’s attention with ample tannins in the discussion. Way too youthful still but making excellent progress and on the right path. 3.5.24. — 2 years ago
Pouilly and Fuissé are the names of two villages in the Mâconnais region, located at the foot of the famous Solutré and Vergisson rocks. The vineyards cover a total of 850 hectares which are divided between four communes. Medium lemon color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and nutty floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, melon and lemon citrus with notes of honey and nutty oak. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity and ends with minerality. Nice! — 3 years ago
Lots of body and minerality. Excellent summer drink — 4 years ago

Cinnamon Girl at Left Foot Charleys. Tastes and smells like an apple pie. Not overwhelmingly cinnamon — 7 years ago
Raspberry compote and ripe raspberry, almost a 'Fruit by the Foot' profile. Still some oak present, and slightly hot from the alcohol still, consistent with other Australian wines with the same bottle age. This is under screwcap, perhaps that's contributing to the freshness. Subsequent bottles should be 2020-2024. — 8 years ago

Still great more on the lighter side than previous vintages mostly strawberry. — 3 months ago
