Allright! My one thousandth posted wine on Delectable. And just the right occasion to do so. We are sitting here in a tent in the middle of the bush of South Africa sipping a Shiraz of Anthonij Rupert from Stellenbosch. Fresh, uplifting Shiraz that drinks more like a cool climate Syrah. Strong oak tannins fighting with the dry red cherry, fig fruit. Cheers!!! Up to the next thousand…. Wow what was that sound 😳 — 2 years ago

Dark & rich on the nose with blackberry jam, cassis, raw beef, black olives and tobacco leaf. And a refreshing menthol - allspice - cloves whiff.
Very smooth on the palate, with surprising lightness and impressive balance & poise. Rich, without the weight, the tannins mellow, the acidity fresh. Velvety towards the long finish with a spicy aftertaste.
Seductive and very pleasing, def. more New World rather than Rhône.
Simply delicious with a good rib eye! — 3 years ago
Deep, fruity blackberries well rounded noticeable tanins. Labeled online as a cab sauv blend. Almost shiraz-y to me. So good when young, wonder how the aged ones would be. — 6 months ago
This is a nice “easy-to-drink” wine! Soft enough for almost any pallet yet pairs with so many things: burgers, red meat, cheese, fruit, or just sip! — 2 years ago
