Quite light green tinged . Restrained fresh apple peel ,
camomile and sea breeze notes . On the palate quite strict salivating acidity with more green fruits , along with the camomile and mineral , chalky, wet stone element . Quite lean with just a hint of sweetness to balance with ok length. Young but enjoyable for now and the next 5 -8 years or so — 3 years ago
Legendary Loss
Calera founder Josh Jensen passed away earlier this month after a lifetime of achievements that included elevating American Pinot Noir on the world stage
Day 1
Served this with the Vinloq System
👃Bold, sexy, purple fruit floods from the glass endlessly
👅Spicy purple fruit, blood orange, sasafras, and licorice. A gentle tannic pull on the smoke tinged finish. Drinking well
Remaining wine was Slow Decanted in my refrigerator
DAY 10
👃Sweet, spicy, purple fruits with more vanilla, oak, vegetal, and tobacco notes than Day 1
👅Same sweet plummy fruit with tobacco and licorice. Fruit forward but balanced. Soft tannins and no heat
I did not have a preference for Day 1 or Day 10. There were more oak notes on both the nose and palate on Day 10. Two solid showings👍This is solidly in its drinking window & will be there for quite some time 🍷 — 4 years ago

Wow, medium yellow color, very nice floral apricot honeyed with just a hint of that petrol underneath, with a light lithe texture into a bit more acidic finish. 8% ABV. Must have aged well since last time, last one unfortunately — 6 months ago
Nose: bright. Lovely. White and yellow flowers. Pink grapefruit.
Palate: on the sweet side. Nice peach. Solid. Mountain stream. Sort of lovely if not not brilliant.

Best riesling i’ve tried so far..
Very good for spicy food.
Round, lots of lime, very fruity when properly cooled. — 6 years ago
By the glass. Barb said aromas of Fairy Floss. (Aussies who have been to rural Agricultural Shows will be familiar with Fairy Floss - a sugary whipped confection). Also a note of Lemon and petrol, but oh so young - yet to display its potential. One of the least sweet Ausleses I have ever had. Great refreshment and lively acid. — 7 years ago
Tart, bright, full raspberry flavor and tannins. Very nice. — 5 years ago
From Eric Jensen at Booker, this version is 46% grenache, 34% mourvedre, and 20% cunoise. Drinking really well, although I suspect it’s developed as much as it’s going to and will start to tail off pretty soon. Really enjoyable wine, though (and performs much better if you keep it at cellar temp). — 5 years ago

Dry German Riesling pleasure with roast cod lion and crisp polenta at new restaurant Gezellig in Holborn. Will return to both this wine and restaurant! — 7 years ago
Beth Novak
Delicate, a kiss of sweetness with an herbal note. Minerality, of the warm earth, a beauty and elegance, still very much alive. Texturally and structurally beautiful. For this vintage, he hit it out of the park! — 6 months ago
