22’s having a moment now. This has glorious texture and mouthfeel and just takes over your palate with clear fruit and lovely spice. Out of the gates it’s raging. We will see if it closes up. As this opened the nose had dizzying spice and gorgeous, clear black cherry fruit. Unreal fruit density and sapidity. So close to a 9.5. — a month ago
2014, what a treat! — 3 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. No formal notes due to the setting but I’m pleased to report that the 2018 “Très Girard” is positively delightful at this stage of its evolution. Still developing, there is a pleasant mix of dark and red fruit with earth and spice and enough structure to gracefully continue its evolution over the next 10 to 15 years. Drink now through 2038. — 3 months ago
Back at our new favorite seafood restaurant and so very difficult to find the right red wine pairing (we were in the mood for some red….don’t judge us!)
Our new Sommelier BFF (Michael) steered us to this region and he was spot on! Light, fresh, red fruits…delicious 😋 — 14 days ago
This was drinking beautifully showing layers of red & black cherry, berry fruit, lots of spice, earth, mineral & violets wrapped in a silky, velvet texture. I have always enjoyed this producer as I was introduced to Burgundy drinking his 83 & 85 GE’s when they were released — 4 months ago
