Showing well out of the gates with blackberry and earth on the nose that has more to reveal. Palate is deep and very 18, thick with fruit, tannins and mineral. But juicy and with terrific energy. Has the largesse of this 1er Cru which works well in a vintage like this. Curious to see how it evolves. — 10 days ago

Glorious nose. So exuberant. Rich, dense black and red cherries. Cranberry and black plum. Gorgeous lift. Palate has great freshness and deep black and red cherry fruit. Very pure and terrific acidity fans out on the long finish. Really lithe yet classic dense, structured and classic Aloxe. Really ripe, sweet, chewy and dense tannins. Girard always delivers. Fruit set that is developing on the finish is fantastic. 2019 is a modern day 1999. As this airs it gains in opulence, sap and a little toasty oak. Ideally a few more years. — 3 months ago
There’s village and then there’s village. Gibourg made fabulous 2012’s and at age 12, the Vosne village is showing superbly, with seamless layers of fruit, mineral and spice, with the concentration of the vintage and the elegance and finesse of the site and winemaking yielding the perfect combination. In a great spot. — 22 days ago
This was drinking well showing red cherry, dark berry fruit, savory spice, earth & violets — a month ago
Gorgeous nose of deep cherry fruit, tweed jacket, minerals and wet earth. Gorgeous and classic SLB and classic Girard. Fleshy and ripe but excellent cut and grip. Superb supple red fruits and nice finesse for such a humble wine. Tiny berry fruit intensity and so sappy. Great dissipation on the finish. — 2 months ago

Amazing nose after opening- vibrant with berries and rose. It fairly quickly took on aged character once drunk, however. Not bad at all, but surprising given only ten years of age. — 7 days ago
