Nose is ripe with late season red cherries. Spice, earth. Wet earth and tweed jacket. Really spectacular fruit on the nose. Almost a cola like intensity but it’s all Burg fruit. Terrific aromas. Really nice layered spices beyond that. Almost middle eastern. Juicy and so concentrated with such sappy and pure fruit. Man what amazing fruit here. So long and slippery. Really open now but will develop. More 22’s I taste more I have to pat myself on the back for making the call these would be open when they landed. Not one closed 22 so far. Showing well out of the gates with blackberry and earth on the nose that has more to reveal. Palate is deep and very 18, thick with fruit, tannins and mineral. But juicy and with terrific energy. Has the largesse of this 1er Cru which works well in a vintage like this. Curious to see how it evolves. — a month ago

Solid, gritty and aromatic Fichots. Even in a forward vintage like 17 Fichots is still a bit closed at 8 years old. Needs 3-4 years as Fichots needs more time than any Pernand 1er Cru. — a month ago
