Still excellent. Dark cherries, plums, dark chocolate, and leather. Fabulous on the nose, full-bodied, and complex. An outstanding wine from winemaker Sharon Harris. — a year ago
2002 vintage. Last tasted 10.06.22 (9.4). Similar "gliding along" impressions with feminine characteristics. This bottle (nice fill, cork and decent sed) was a goody. Decanted and tasted after 5 mins, 30 mins and 2 hours. Bit more structure evident after two hours open as to be a different, yet fantastic, wine. Funny how some of these underwhelming, less than aggro wines can take on another life of their own, on their terms, by gently removing all doubt. Still another 5-7 years-easy. 11.21.24. — a month ago
Really smooth wine for the price point! No after taste and a sweet finish to each sip! — 3 months ago
2016 vintage. Last tasted 1.14.24 (9.4). Ripped through the last two bottles. Medium/medium-heavy body. Still plenty of meaty/gamey qualities afoot but undergoing potty training and getting domesticated. Just starting to get cultured and “pretty.” 4.12.24. — 8 months ago
Great Can. Fully body. Much better with food than without. Good balance of fruit. Not too dry. — 3 years ago
Really like this nice bold cab. Fruity with a nice dry finish. Paired great with the osso buco recipe. — 23 days ago
The longevity this wine is capable of is shocking. The color hardly looks half its age, with a blooming nose that screams a much younger, softened cab of yesteryear. After half an hour open there’s nose of blueberry and butterscotch, vanilla and spicy peppery notes still persist! Over time a mustiness emerged, along with notes of wet wood, maybe even a little mustard! There’s even still a zippy, lingering acidity on the palate that focuses towards the tip of the tongue, either flavors of ripe strawberry, blueberry, plum and some meaty savory subtle notes, but primarily jammy fruit, with a palate that develops some woody cedar and forest floor notes and as it becomes further oxygenated. This is so impressive! — 3 months ago
"Odedi"
Deep inky in color with a short reddish rim.
Pretty nose of red and black fruits with cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, light bell pepper, herbs, dark coffee, dark chocolates and black tea.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, black currants, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, black pepper and spices.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious 5 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Howell Mountain.
Elegant, rich and robust. Feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux, which is very interesting to see.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours in the decanter. The high alcohol is well integrated now.
Still young, and needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly. Would continue to age nicely in the next 15 years.
Good by itself or with food. Paired very nicely with my steak and roasted potatoes.
A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot. Aged in (60% new) French Oak barrels for 18 months.
15.1% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
