Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Decant and pour. Nose: enticing perfumed dark fruit, mint, pine, floral, pencil shavings. Taste: creamy, balanced, savory wine with blackberry, milk chocolate, earth, leather, graphite, and a lingering long finish with some slightly grippy tannins. YUM!! No hurry, time to go. — 20 hours ago

Spring Mountain Vineyard

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1979

1979 vintage. Last tasted 07.15.25 (9.4). Bottom neck/top shoulder fill. Employed Durand with cork (60% saturated) easily extracted. Decanted with a funnel + decently small screen. Godzilla-styled sed. Tasted immediately after decanting and 30 mins later. Light-medium/medium body. Initially reticent but started to blossom after 20 minutes. Chunkiness flowed to cocoa powder, spearmint and milk chocolate. There was a 10-15 minute period of subtle, raw green bell pepper that shook out. Wine was gonzo after an hour so no further developments noted *shrugs.* Great time capsule enjoyed with more than a few people that could appreciate the history and experience. 13.7 ABV. Haha that is a current Napa pipe dream. 08.15.25. — 7 days ago

Cakebread Cellars

Dancing Bear Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2012

Really great. Needs about 3 hours of air. So well balanced. A lot of cocoa, blackberry, garden dirt, some tree bark, some chocolate cherries, but very dark, some menthol in the background, long finish, almost coffee and cocoa, some fruits as well. Outstanding! — 13 days ago

Quilceda Creek

Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Dark purple in color with a wide purplish rim.

Beautiful nose of black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco and peppercorn.

Full-bodied with medium acidity.

Dry and fruit forward on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, blackberries, cedar, vanilla, spices, chocolates, tobacco, light earth and herbs.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain in Washington State. Elegant and fruity. Smooth and soft.

This 6 year old is showing nice complexity at this point, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Showing good potential to become a 95+ point wine.

This Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime.

Spicy, entertaining, and the high alcohol is well integrated by now.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with a nice piece of steak.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged for 20 months in all new French oak barrels.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$150.
