Blend of two varietals from Italy (Friuli and Alto Adige) rarely grown in US. 37 cases made. Ruby red, very good clarity, medium pigment extraction. Red fruit aromas, flavors of pomegranate, tart cherry, black currant and a touch of plum, not quite cola. Lots of tannins, seed and skin, so decant at least one hour, preferably longer. Good body, lighter style in terms of alcohol, nice balance of fruit, tannins and acid. Props to the winemaking team at Illahe for staying experimental and testing new varieties’ adaptability to growing conditions in Oregon. — a year ago
100% with this one. Light and smooth with just enough boldness to satisfy any red drinker. — 2 months ago
Light, crisp and acidic. Short finish, not crazy complex but just really nice to drink. Probably would be great with cheese or fattier foods. — 2 months ago
This was a good FG4K meeting and the Pinot Gris is perfect — 2 months ago

A favorite Willamette Valley producer of mine. The wines are charming, soulful, and Burgundian. There’s so much earthy red fruit here. Cherries, strawberries, leaves, and soil after a fresh rain. Impeccably integrated spice and polish from oak aging. The folks at Illahe are experimental artisans that love the land they work. That consistently shows in their entire lineup. Pair with sautéed mushrooms.
Is anyone else noticing that Europeans are discovering the value of Oregon in comparison to their Burgundian counterparts? 👀 — 21 days ago
