Costers del Priorat

Petit Pissarres Produccio Limitada Priorat Grenache Samsó 2021

It’s being a while since I’ve pounded a Priorat and Pissarres delivered — the right balance of raspberry, blueberry and black slate. Pure, intense fruit and earth unadulterated by new oak. Great pairing with Gochujang (other favorite pairings include Pinot Gris Ramato or Bedrock Evanghelo Zin). — 3 months ago

Bodega Cicchitti

Edición Limitada Malbec 2012

Lovely mushroom emerges within a lovely and gracefully aged malbec showing appropriate raisination. Tulip, violet, hibiscus and rosemary-beef; bllackberry and cocoa, cracked pepper. Dense coloration just brimming on brick. Concentrated plum and cinnamon collide with tobacco, cedar and savory as well as slightly sour cherry and roobios.

Hermanos Pérez Pascuas

Reserva Edición Limitada El Pedrosal Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2006

The flavor profile is kind of like Cab Franc, with notes of dehydrated strawberry (like Special K red berries), mushroom, and a kiss of oak. Medium bodied. Wonderful acid, and still had some tannins. — 3 years ago

Bodegas Valdemar

Conde de Valdemar Inspiracion Edicion Limitada Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2017

Vintage 2017 | Red berry, baking spices, good concentration. Usually I love this producer, but this bottle had a steel impression in smell I do not like, a certain stubborness — a year ago

Ontañón

Edición Limitada Tempranillo Blanc 2017

100% Tempranillo Blanco 12% ABV

I have had Tempranillo Blanco in blends, but never 100% until now.

Nice fruit quality, med+ acidity. Simple characteristics, clean, crisp, “lemony”, straw. Could easily be called a simple Sauv. Blanc or young vine Viura in a blind tasting. Non-descript. Food/table wine. Good with Turkey and sides.

Very nice, recommended, would purchase again.

Personal preference for a 100% blanco from Rioja is Viura. Originally went to store for ‘Vetiver’ (Viura from Ontañón), store had a data entry error and was stocked with Tempranillo Blanco in its place. Happy Accident.
