Lovely mushroom emerges within a lovely and gracefully aged malbec showing appropriate raisination. Tulip, violet, hibiscus and rosemary-beef; bllackberry and cocoa, cracked pepper. Dense coloration just brimming on brick. Concentrated plum and cinnamon collide with tobacco, cedar and savory as well as slightly sour cherry and roobios.

Deep ruby color. Pronounced aromas of violets and lilies, fresh black fruit (blueberries, blackberries and black cherries) and hints of vainilla and cedar. On the palate it is juicy and fresh with medium acidity, medium(+) fine grained ripe tannin and medium(+) body. The finish is medium(+) and slightly sweet of ripe delicious fruit. The taster for Robert Parker only gave it 90+ but I believe that he is diverging further and further away from what the wine collector and wine consumer really enjoy and is scoring very subjectively based on his own personal preference for Burgundy and Jura wines. In the context of new world wines and Argentina and Malbec, I find this wine fresh and perfectly ripe and with a controlled oak presence and a very solid effort to transmit the terroir of the La Consulta sub-region. #catena #catenazapata #argentina #malbec #mountainwine — 5 years ago

Medium ruby color. Medium(+) intensity aromas of red fruit (plums and cherries and raspberries) black fruit (cassis, black currant and black plum) and secondary of oak (cedar, smoke) tertiaries with hints of leather and tobacco and there are some aromas of roasted red peppers. Medium(+) body medium(+) acidity, medium (+) ripe smooth tannins and high alcohol. The concentration of ripe fruit aromas and flavors seem to balance out the relatively high alcohol sensation and the acidity also helps to make the wine lively and not dense or dull. The wine has a nice fine-grained tannin giving it a slightly earthy texture. The wine seem capable of further bottle aging because it has a nice acidity and tannin that’s will guide it forward and the wine will continue to be interesting and could even be better from now until 5 years from now. Their is a clear varietal expression. It is purely #cabernetsauvignon as expressed by clear and defined aromas and flavors of cassis and cedar and hints of roasted peppers. The first time I tasted this #argentinian wine #argentina I found the #tannic tannins too rough, but blind tasting it I found it to be outstanding. Caro is a collaboration between Catena and Rothschild. Pop and Pour. Wow, weightless. Great mouthfeel. Great QPR. Neither Malbec nor Cabernet Sauvignon stands out. All blended in, becoming an easy-to-drink pleasant wine.

カテナとロスチャイルドがコラボしたカロ(Caro)によるマルベックとカベルネのブレンドPetit Caroを試しました。開けてすぐに飲みましたが、重さを全く感じさせない、口当たりが滑らかで飲みやすいワイン。コスパ高し。マルベックとカベルネがそれぞれ主張し合うことなく仲良く共存しているようなワインでした。

Bright #argentina #cabernetsauvignon with strong bramble fruit character. Uncorking reveals a lot of vanilla from oak aging but extended decanting mostly airs this off leaving some cocoa and fruit aromas. Deliciously bright acidity on the palate, semisweet chocolate and medium roast coffee notes leading into generous tannins that linger in the finish. Quite interesting dried grape #malbec #syrah #argentina blend. The wine was tight right after opening with uncouth iron/metallic flavors but a day or two in the wine fridge transformed it. Stewed plum, raisins and a nice peppery foundation on the nose, juicy acidity, continued black pepper, earthy fruit and medium tannins on a longer finish.
