Jordan Kay

Kay Brothers

Amery Vineyard Block 6 Shiraz 2012

Dense Ruby with a Crimson rim. Aromas of red and black berries, chocolate, and smoked meat. Full bodied and muscular. From a single vineyard in McLaren Vale which was planted 124 years ago. Silky tannins. A great red on a cold night in Winter. Love the old fashioned label which probably hasn’t changed in 100 years showing the two Kay Brothers. Hope to have the patience to drink the last bottle in say 2028 to 2030. — 4 days ago

Sonoma County Chardonnay 2023

Pale lemon color with aromas of ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla and nutty scents. On the palate complex flavors of apple, peach, melon and lemon citrus, well balanced with acidity on a nice mouthfeel. Long finish ending with oak, vanilla, fruit, mineral and citrus notes, will continue to age. A nice Chardonnay. — 10 months ago

One of our favorite reds. Not too sweet or tanic but a nice blend of fruit, wood, and soil. Laura nicely with red meat or cheese. — 5 years ago

Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

When I’m not drinking a Napa Cab, and I’m having a fillet mignon, I reach for a Jordon. Blend of 87% Cab Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot & 1% Malbec, aged 13 months in 100% French oak (35% new). Deep Ruby red color with aromas of red fruit, floral and an array of herb spices. On the palate flavors of blackberry and raspberry with oak, vanilla spice, leather and cacao notes. Rich fine tannins, well balanced and integrated with fruit and oak. Very Nice! Will age well. Just had this at a chophouse, Nice! — a month ago

28-year-old basic selection of Basserman’s dry Riesling. With impressive vitality, it still offers an expressive spectrum of fruit and Mittel Haardt Pfalz terroir. A regional wine that displays premier cru quality. — 8 months ago

Trocken Riesling 2021

Unscrew and pour. My kind of wine. Intense nose of melon, lime, candied kumquat and a cotton candy affect. On the palate: stunning acidity, grapefruit, pith, soft oiliness, and loveky density. A hint of white pepper spice, on the juicy and mineral finish. This is an absolute stunner for the price. — 3 years ago

Keefer Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2013

Alder Yarrow
9.3

Evolving beautifully and likely not at its peak yet, this wine was gorgeous with cherry and cranberry compote flavors touched with cedar and dried herbs. On the richer, riper side of things but only just. A very fine way to spend an afternoon with friends (six feet distant). Well done @Ehren Jordan — 6 years ago

Forster Jesuitengarten Spätlese Riesling 2003

Lovely aged Riesling , melon fruit flavor, and fruit-filled nose almost pineapple. Sweet Riesling , having a crisp acidic finish. Still gold in color despite its age. A great value at $19. Perfect with Indian food. — 8 years ago

Failla

Hirsch Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014

PNP > Beauty from @Ehren Jordan Kudos &
Cheers 🍇🍷👍🏻👏🏻
95 Points- Vinous
“The 2014 Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard is a total knock-out. Dark, rich and explosive, the 2014 possesses magnificent depth and pedigree to burn. The flavors are dense, sweet and wonderfully nuanced throughout. A wine of extraordinary, almost Nebbiolo-like aromatic intensity and firm tannin, the Hirsch is going to need at least a few years to unwind, but it is very clearly a special wine. Hints of rose petal, mint and sweet red berry linger on the long, enticing finish. My tasting at Failla was one of the highlights of the two weeks I spent in Sonoma earlier this year. Ehren Jordan's 2014s are superb across the board. The wines are made in a mid-weight style that balances forward fruit with the aromatics and phenolics that these cooler sites tend to confer on their own... Simply put, 2014 is one of the most impressive vintages I have tasted at Failla.” (AG) (1/2016)
