La Grange Le Haut

Château d'Arcins

Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois Red Bordeaux Blend 2025

2025 vintage. This is the final blend, still in the barrel. The first vintage for both young in-house winemaker Lucas Puyo and consultant Éric Boissenot. A very positive evolution for this extremely reliable Château, with Cabernet Sauvignon dominating the blend for the first time (60%), with 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. — 8 days ago

No notes. Bottle offered to my friend and kept since then, again for a decade or more. Superb currently, can be kept for another 5 to 7 years easily. Cassis, oak and firm tannins, strong acid drive, tar and cigar on the nose. Great stuff ! — a month ago

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2021

Dusty floral, rose and Violet. Slight cherry on the tongue. Brief tannins. Crushed black fruits. Almost seems like some Sonoma wines we’ve had. Very delicious. — 20 days ago

Château Barde-Haut

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

I loved the flavor and finish of this. Great smell and one of the few deeper reds I can drink without food—but also thoroughly enjoyed it with our surf and turf dinner. Would buy again for a dinner party wine. — 3 months ago

Penfolds

Grange Hermitage Bin 95 Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 1994

Dead… was my first impression.
So I put the remaining 2/3 of the bottle in the fridge.
On day two this showed more balance and depth. Dark fruit notes and grilled meat as well. Alas, the brown notes of cola, raisins and dates were still present. Although this must have been a suboptimal bottle, I finished the remainder with pleasure!

Probably… acquired at auction…
Good fill and good condition of label/cork/capsule nonetheless…

Château La Grange

Saint Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

#AgedWineTuesday

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose of black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, licorice, eucalyptus, chocolates, spices, vegetables, coffee, herbs and black pepper.

Full bodied and rich with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, spices, toast, coffee, light vanilla, dark chocolates, peppercorn, earth and black tea.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This gorgeous 21 year old red blend from Saint Julien is drinking beautifully now. Powerful and fruit forward. Nicely balanced and elegant.

Peaking now, and still feels very fresh, with a lot of power to take it even longer. Will continue to drink nicely in the next 10 years.

This Third Growth Bordeaux is showing great complexity with a great mouthfeel. Spicy and entertaining. A great vintage in Bordeaux, and it is definitely showing.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food like a big piece of steak.

A blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot. Aged in (60% new) French Oak barrels for 21 months.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

94 points.

$125.
