Nice dry Pinot with hints of berry — 8 months ago
More fruity than last night cab franc and less green pepper. A little green pepper on the nose and a certain softness. The taste has a soft round raspberry ish note with a tiny tinge of the green pepper at the end. But more vegetal than green pepper. A pretty and lovely wine. Might get another and will definitely get more loire cab franc.
I feel like this style of wine is easily not super popular with people that expect a big fruity wine it’s softer and elegant and lean. Like a quote paired down Bordeaux. If someone had this with mostly experience from new world wines they probably would feel like it was watered down. Food for thought. — 9 months ago
Balanced in every way. I love it. — 3 months ago
Opened yesterday, drank over 2 days.
The nose is very fruity and intense with dark cherry touches, earthy notes, some raspberry and blackberry scents too. I could even smell some peony notes too. This is really inviting. The palate is wide and long and quite complex. A good acid drive, some dark cherry notes all along, some very soft and easy going mouthfeel that is changing in mid palate with a great tannic wall, which adds a layer of dust over an otherwise quite juicy and fruity finish. In the back-end though, there is a tiny savoury note that pops along with a subtle bitterness. This is really my kind of cab franc. Really good stuff! — 4 months ago
Excellent. Raspberry and cranberries with a soft velvet ness and a bit of body without heavy ness. A very fine wine especially for the price. With air or cellaring this will probably bloom more but it is still lovely. Interestingly I don’t pick up green peppers on this even though it definitely feels cab franc. Highly recommended. Second best cab franc I’ve had so far.
Edit after about an hour in decanter: still very nice but perhaps a little larger of a wine than I initially noticed. Not huge but more fruit and a bit of spice on the taste. A smidge tart on the aftertaste. Still I don’t find the green pepper here. Quite fine and still recommend. But the fruit is a bit more prominent. Maybe some bottle she would bring up more interesting secondary characteristics. — 8 months ago
