This wine is the 2021 Domaine Louis Boillot & Fils Gevrey-Chambertin. It offers a shimmering medium ruby hue with nuanced red-fruit and earthy characteristics that effortlessly leap from the glass, especially after some time decanting. There’s also a delicate crème brûlée and toasty note that adds dimension.

Fruity aroma. Rich, A bit sweet, but enough acidity. Citrus. For European food. CHABLIS 1ER CRU LES SECHETS LOUIS MICHEL & FILS 21 @8360, Enoteca, 240515 — 6 months ago
Fragrant nose with small red fruits and some spices. Juicy palate with crunchy berries and a small mineral backbone. Boillot’s entry level wine does not disappoint. — a year ago

The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru is clean and precise on the nose, with raspberry and wild strawberry, crushed stone and discreet sous-bois scents. This, again, unfolds wonderfully in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle but insistent grip. It is more saline than Launay Horiot's Chambertin, with fine structure and a hint of spice towards the finish that has just a touch of piquancy. Bravo - this is a Chambertin from the top drawer. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2024)
