Cuvée Louise Brut Champagne Blend 2005

Ming L
9.3

Not really a time for celebration given the recent events, but life is too short no to live in the moment.
I thought this cuvée has higher % of PN, but it does not seem to be the case for 2005 (can’t fine the exact blend for the vintage) as it shows prominent apple and citrus notes. Peach, pomelo, brioche, and white flowers as well. Very intense yet quite refined on the palate with chalky minerals. The finish is precise and long.

Château Belair (Dubois-Challon)

St. Émilion 1er Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2007

Fris in de neus beetje aards potloodslijpsel. Lekker vleugje choco uitnodigend. De smaak zacht gepolijste tanine heerlijk toegespitst rood fruit die fijne choco hint en heerlijke afdronk. Waanzinnig goed op dronk — 5 months ago

Les Cocottes Fleurie Gamay 2021

Gorgeous fleurie. Cranberries, dark strawberries, stone, some forest and barnyard, it’s too “crunchy” to be Pinot but leans toward burgundy Pinot. Unbelievable with pork chops and food. I imagine this could be paired with almost anything. Really enjoyed it. One of the best gamays I’ve had in a while. — 2 months ago

Les Vieilles Vignes Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay 2023

Medium golden color. Aromas of white flowers, green melon and fresh herbs. Melon, pear, green apple and citrus fruits (grapefruit and pineapple) on the palate with hints of butter and those fresh herbs. Pleasant mineral component on the finish. Lovely smooth and creamy texture (malolactic fermentation) but no sign of oak. Medium acidity. Nice start to the day, Keith S! Revisited in November 2024. Aging beautifully. Taking my rating up to 9.1. — 4 months ago
