Blackberry and tangerine peel aromas, flavors. Light fruit juice character but fruity with blackberry and some blueberry flavors, not sweet or syrupy. Firm yet light acidity, crisp finish with light seed bitterness and skin astringency. Nice balance but a decidedly light style red. Sure to be divisive, but I like what the winemaker has done with this. The varietal character shines through here — a year ago

Pale yellow, excellent clarity. Tactile, fine grain sandpaper like, so perhaps an acquired case for some. A clean nose, lemon and lemon peel flavors with depth, great acidity. A deep dive into the variety; not for the faint of heart. After 90 minutes the skin tannins do mellow so you might decant this. — 4 months ago
San Benito County Negrette. Cloudy, dusty rose in color, light pigment extraction. Smells of grape pulp as when eating table grapes. Hint of rhubarb or red fruit in aroma. Strawberry, lemon peel, rhubarb and black pepper (initially) in the mouth, definitely different. Fruity, good acidity, a fun pour overall. Probably the first of this varietal I’ve ever had.

Overripe apples. High acidity that works well. Always a fun producer — 16 days ago
