Began in 1944, Mario Incisa acquired Cab Sauv & Franc vine cuttings, planted them on San Guido estate, called Castiglioncello, Sassicaia, "the place of many stones". A blend of 85% Cab Sauv, 15% Cab Franc. Lovely ripe fruit & spice aromas. Bold berry fruit flavors with spice, oak, leather & cacao, a powerhouse. Soft tannins allows current enjoyment. Long silky smooth fresh finish ending with fruit, oak and spice. Great now, will age, but drink now, outstanding. Little pricey at $300. Tasting Sample. — a year ago

Nose - oak, clay pot, perfume (in a good way) and flowers. Flavors - plum and pomegranates, nectarines. Feel - soft up front with a little acidic bite at the end. Really lovely all around. Just my kind of Nebbiolo. — 4 months ago
Fantastic chilled red. Super drinkable. Would be great for summer BBQs. — 3 years ago

2017 vintage. Last tasted 01.22.25 (9.4). Said no then but said yes this time. $50 a bottle on two cases. Medium body with dark fruit and grip for days. Vineyard planted to the Hartwell (Grace) clone. Helluva deal with many/most of the Napa cabs previously in this price range having rocketed up to the $80-$100 range. Needs a decant/air time but is a ringer in a blind Napa cab tasting. Decided, old-school stylings. 04.02.25. — 21 days ago
