Takes abit of time to open up. Fresh oak, plum, raspberries, leather, black pepper — 3 months ago
Began in 1944, Mario Incisa acquired Cab Sauv & Franc vine cuttings, planted them on San Guido estate, called Castiglioncello, Sassicaia, "the place of many stones". A blend of 85% Cab Sauv, 15% Cab Franc. Lovely ripe fruit & spice aromas. Bold berry fruit flavors with spice, oak, leather & cacao, a powerhouse. Soft tannins allows current enjoyment. Long silky smooth fresh finish ending with fruit, oak and spice. Great now, will age, but drink now, outstanding. Little pricey at $300. Tasting Sample. — a year ago
Medium ruby color with aromas of ripe red fruits and elegant hints of floral. On the palate flavors of black cherry, raspberry and plum with hints of fig and tobacco. Tannins are fine and round, a tad young with high acidity noted. The finish is medium, smooth and ends with oak and earthy mineral notes. Very nice. Needs time. — 4 years ago

Nose is intense. Some peach. Some white truffle? Very good.
Palate is peach juice. Good balance. Some spice. Delicious. Good acidity.

2017 vintage. Last tasted 01.22.25 (9.4). Said no then but said yes this time. $50 a bottle on two cases. Medium body with dark fruit and grip for days. Vineyard planted to the Hartwell (Grace) clone. Helluva deal with many/most of the Napa cabs previously in this price range having rocketed up to the $80-$100 range. Needs a decant/air time but is a ringer in a blind Napa cab tasting. Decided, old-school stylings. 04.02.25. — 17 hours ago
