Christmas wine this year- just perfect with the meal and day 2 was even better! — 10 months ago
Double-decanted prior to service. The 1988 pours a garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with beautiful notes of cassis, brambles, tobacco, capsicum, leather, inorganic earth and a mix of herbs and fine spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. The label is beat to hell but the condition of the wine inside the bottle was perfect. Classic, old school Bordeaux from a classified growth. Drink now through 2043. — 3 days ago
Absolutely gorgeous nose of cedar, wood shavings, pine, cigar, cassis and florals, with classic Margaux perfume and extraordinary depth. The palate has really smoothed out since my last bottle, with creamy cassis, unbelievable juiciness, tiny-berry concentration, sweet velvety pointillist tannins and beautiful minerality carrying an enormously long finish. Still structured and angular enough to age, but now far more integrated. One of the great Bordeauxs. — 2 months ago

2022 vintage. Tasted during lunch at their restaurant La Table de Nathalie. Deep dark red. Inviting nose with very ripe cassis and blackberries, intertwined with subtle floral and spicy notes. Concentrated and layered black fruit with the ripeness that one expects in this splendid vintage, all kept in balance by the juicy acidity and powerful velvety tannins. This will age gracefully for decades, but like many 22s it is very flattering young. An impressive effort from this estate that is on a high. Moreover, it represents excellent value for this quality. 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. — 15 days ago

+2 hour decant(decent sediment). A striking deep dark ruby red color. On the nose: expressive notes of red fruit, floral, tobacco leaf, forest floor, espresso, oak. Taste: Silky-smooth, dense, intense wine with ripe red cherry/plum, glycerin, crushed stones, licorice, and a smokey peppery leather long dry finish. YUM! not for the faint of heart! — 12 days ago
