La Marca di San Michele

CapoVolto Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 2021

Structure is on point: high acidity, long finish, full mouthfeel. Flavors are a jumbled mess though. Bruised fruit is primary. Clean up some of that and this would be fire. — 7 days ago

Riserva Clemente VII Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2020

Licorice Snaps, Olive Temponade, cherry, raspberries, slate, strawberry jam! A lot in this glass on Pop n Pour. Vintage Chart indicates nowhere near ready to drink (I use as a light reference). I expect this to improve with age, definitely yummy now! — 15 days ago

@Dave Cheers! Wine Shops in QC! Nope, have had a few over the years. Never lasted! Before Costco I went to Iowa City for anything decent or ordered online!

Feudo Di San Maurizio

Valle d'Aosta Mayolet 2016

At nine years old, this may have been a touch past its prime, but it still drank pretty well. Dark fruit and tobacco were dominant on the nose and palate, with hints of earth, cinnamon, and pepper coming through as well. Would like to try a younger bottling sometime soon for comparison. 100% Mayolet. 5/5/25. — 3 months ago

Casal di Serra Vecchie Vigne Classico Superiore Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi 2023

Austere was the first word that came to mind and then I saw it in @Tom Casagrande’s review as well (though of the previous vintage). Overall I still enjoyed it, but you have to be in the mood for a crisp, somewhat bitter, reclusive wine. — 2 months ago
