Luminous, golden hue. The nose shows freshness and fruit with notes of lemon meringue pie followed by yellow fruit such as Mirabelle plums. Then, as the Champagne warms up, aromas of plums with slightly honeyed and toasted notes start to come through. The Champagne confirms its richness and volume. The Pinot Noir endows it with structure and depth. Hawthorn and white flower aromas fuse naturally together in a fine acidity sustained by citrus fruit. — 7 months ago
A perfectly decent classic Chablis. Green apples & melon, limestone austerity & salinity.
Starts off quite round, with ripe fruit on the forefront. But the acidity & mineral backbone quickly take over giving this delicious mineral & saline linear purity.
Juicy, savoury, fresh. Perfect with grilled mackerel!
Edit: tasted 6m later, with 10h (natural) decant. This gains in complexity pairing the slightly mushroomy, slightly waxy, Mirabelle infused roundness with the typical chalky razor acidity. This is a really nice one that will clearly gain with age! (Bumping up from 8.9 to 9.0) — 3 years ago
Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic vineyards and cellars in 1965. Today, their son Hugh, continues their mission. Blend of 57% Chardonnayand 43% Pinot Noir, pale straw color with aromas of stone fruits, yeast and citrus notes. Nice sparkler with ripe apple, peach and pear flavors, fine mousse with tiny bubbles. Tangy acidity on a long finish ending with a spicy yeast character. Nice! — 3 months ago

Nose still has some oak. But it’s tasty sweet oak. So rich. Some yellow fruits as it opens. Some mirabelle plums. Getting great.
Palate is sweet wood. Deliciously rich. Yellow fruits. As it opens tart. Green apples. Lemon pith.

2019 vintage. Biodynamically farmed. Mainly Gros Manseng, with one third Petit Manseng and just a tiny percentage of Petit Courbu. Initially a bit shy, but growing on me. Ripe mirabelle prunes, rosemary and flowers. In the mouth it combines concentrated yellow stone fruit with flinty acidity. Long mineral finish with a distinctive saltiness. Intriguing wine that may not be a crowdpleaser, but it has tons of personality. — 3 years ago
@Delectable Wine this is the Garnacha Blanca from Artazu
Enticing and fresh nose with ripe pear & reine claude plum, rye toast, salty stones. There’s a fresh purity here but also an interesting edge. Very enticing!
Medium weight on the palate but also very juicy & fresh. Love the purity of fruit (ripe reine claude & mirabelle plums) paired with the slightly creamy mouthfeel and just a hint of tannins. Finish is salty, mineral, edgy.
Much more precise & more structured vs a Languedoc Grenache Blanc. So nice!
This is truly a lovely wine! — 6 months ago
This is what we strive to be...rich, but balanced. Stuff to show, not showy.
This is lively kickin' pretty perfumed mix of vanilla spice and citrus, with a saturated butterscotch glow. Yellow sour mirabelle plums and peaches. Swervy end note of violet and artificial grape. — a year ago
Biodynamic Pinot Blanc with a splash of Auxerrois.
Fresh nose, herby, salty, mineral with the typical Alsace note of summer meadow & ripe orchard fruit.
Nice mouthfeel, a bit rounder & creamier yet beautifully balanced with zesty acidity, ripe pears, Mirabelle plums and orange zest. Finished off with a mineral, salty, stony note.
Very nice for summer terrace sipping but also a great food wine! — 2 years ago
