Most beautiful Gewürztraminer I had so far. Very balanced on the palate, good acidity and saline taste. Medium finish. — 2 years ago
The best white wine I've ever personally purchased from the store. This time, on a trip to Bolzano. — 3 years ago

Sauvignon from Alto Adige - an easy wine to like. Usually luscious, ripe, powerful, something to say. And so it goes again here...
I grabbed this guy from the clearance bin and only later realized I had visited the winery a few years ago, a big fancy glossy floored operation in the adorable town of Bolzano - the wine is humble and fits together in itself with sweet quirks and lots of umph.

Was in the mood for a bit of Merlot.
Needs quite some time to let go of the reduction and open up. Better on day2 actually!
Nice fresh nose full of plums, dark sweet cherry, a whiff of raspberry freshness, a hint of sweet scented wood and some cool minerality in the backdrop.
Light to medium bodied in the palate with beautiful purity of fruit (damson plums, raspberries) medium tannins that have been polished to velvety smoothness and fresh acidity. Perfectly balanced, poised and quite elegant. And fresh.
You can feel this is a mountain wine.
