Remarkable how well this held up for nine years… 50% cab sauv, 36% PV, 14% merlot....Smart blending considering the wet end to the vintage – as much acid as possible (this was the second label wine from old vines… Before T.Ruth was born the next year). Classic Glen Manor concentration of flavor, just in a lighter weight package. This was my last bottle and I knew it was on the downward slope. Glad we enjoyed it when we did Dash it was a testament to Jeff white quality in the vineyard and deft touch in the cellar :) — 6 years ago

Mid 20th century fashionable country resort, popular with Hollywood due to 1892 stone Manor House & historic gardens. Blend of 81% Cab Sauv, 11% Merlot, 4% Malbec, rest other Rhone varieties, aged 20 months in 37% new French oak. Dark Ruby, aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs & spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry & black currant with vanilla oak and earthy notes. Well balanced, fine tannins long finish ending with fruit, espresso notes and sweet spice! Nice now and will drink well over next decade. — 4 years ago
Gift from Donnie for my 40th birthday. Smooth taste with a blackberry finish. Oak-y. Having this with some Chicago Pepperoni Pizza, but a good everyday wine. — 6 years ago

Dark fruit and baking spice on the nose. Juicy dark berries mixed with ripe plums on the body giving way to an unexpected, but much appreciated, gentle wave of acidity. — 8 years ago

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. This time it's a delightful Cabernet from Sonoma County.
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Strong nose with blackberries, blackcurrants, plums, cherries, light vanilla, eucalyptus, earth, licorice, mint, cloves, spices, dark chocolates and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, cherries, sweet raspberries, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, leather, chocolates and earth.
Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon from knights Valley in Sonoma County. Well balanced with nice complexity and a very soft and smooth mouthfeel.
Good by itself or with food. Fruit forward, spicy and elegant. This is a good wine to sip on by the porch.
Needs an hour to open up properly and balance itself out.
At this point the high alcohol is not noticeable, which is always nice.
This Single Vineyard Cabernet is very approachable now, and will be good in the next 10 years.
I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.
Aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
