Grosset

Polish Hill Clare Valley Riesling 2012

Light yellow in colour. Paraffin notes with Toast and Honey on the nose. Good refreshing citric acid (lime and lemon) - still very youthful at 12 years of age. On the palate, purity and power with amazing flavour persistence. Regarded as one of Australia’s Premium Rieslings with good reason. — 18 days ago

Bougros Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2005

Pulled from the wine fridge and double-decanted about 90 minutes prior to service; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2005 Bougros pours a deep straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of marmalade, dried apricot, cashews, chalky minerals, leesy, and slightly sherried. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and super chalky.

This improved dramatically as it came up to temperature and had some real time to stretch its legs. It showed all the hallmarks of well aged GC Chablis from a solar year: powerful, dried fruit; the chalk; the acid; its creamy, leesy texture. The sherried, oxidative notes seemed to dissipate over time, freshening up a bit after being cooped up for so long. Bravo! Drink now and before 2030. Thanks Andy!

Estate Grown Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon

Right off with blackberries, pears, touch of caramel, chocolate and smoke. A woodsy build of tannins followed by a moderate acidity that builds up, lingering to the finish. Really wonderful. — a month ago

Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon 1978

Deep fruit. A touch of tang. Some tobacco and dried herbs. Iron and deep fruit. So young given its age. Quite intense. Soulful. Excellent — 23 days ago

Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2021

The bouquet is sooooo intoxicating, melting you from all directions with orange and apple blossoms, peach and nectarine nectar, jasmine, shortbread, lemon pledge, limeade, oyster shells and ocean spray, and crushed gravel

On the palate a spectrum of citrus lasers meld w that juicy dripping peach flesh ~ riding that long acidic and saline finish ~ WOW!
