Brauneberger Juffer Spätlese Riesling 1997

1997 vintage. Picked up the last case of this for a song. Still a bit of petrol influence afoot. Overt Spätlese sweetness mostly dissipated so giving off more old-school Kabinett vibes. Delicious. 05.21.25. — 12 days ago

So much for “classic” vintages. This silky-textured, Rubenesque beauty from a hot vintage offers tremendous enjoyment at 17+ years. Versatile with main course and dessert. — 4 years ago

The Basic QbA Riesling from a good grower should always be a very good wine that also ages well. Case in point here. This 13-year old has another decade of aging potential. I believe the vineyard village here is Wehlen. The fruit is fresh and would be convincing as a feinherb, and the balanced structure is appropriately firm. — 5 years ago
