Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Red fruits on the nose with earth, spices, chocolate notes and herbs.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, red currants, earth, light wood, spices, espresso, herbs, green vegetables and peppercorn.

Short finish with grippy tannins and tart cranberries.

This is an interesting take on a Chianti from Alexander Valley. Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but a good food wine right now.

Showing nice complexity, but still a little grippy, once it opens up.
Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years and see how it evolves.

Will pair nicely with Pizza, or with Pasta with red sauce.

A field blend of Sangiovese with a touch of Canaiolo Nero, Malvasia, and Trebbiano. Aged in used French oak barrels for 17 months. A tiny production of only 1,300 bottles.

Popped and poured; enjoyed from red Solo cups over the course of an hour. No formal notes. At this stage, the 2015 is more than giving, full of delicious ripe orchard fruits, tiny bubbles, racy acidity and minerals. This lives up to the hype. A wine you could write paragraphs about, but suffice to say is excellent. There is a tension and energy here that almost takes your breath away. Classic flavor profile - super mineral, with orchard fruit in the nose and citrus in the mouth. The searing acid here almost feel like tannin on the finish. A challenging, beautiful, and unique wine. Lovely dark purple color, the Shiraz is black pepper and spice, with a quite tannic profile, the Viognier provides some lovely floral notes and acidity, longish finish, should easily improve for 2-4 more years. — 7 months ago
