Pierres Bleues

Domaine des Pierres Seches

Gauthier Sylvain Saint-Joseph Syrah 2022

Nice but perhaps not at the level I was hoping. Quite fruit forward with lots of nice dark fruit with the requisite olive notes etc. Tannins and acid both less than expected. Nice pairing with chicken roasted with feta and olives. — 2 days ago

Les Pierres Blanches Vieilles Vignes Sur Lie Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Melon de Bourgogne 2007

Another great bottle of this cuvée, still showing a ripe tropical fruit (pineapple?) note, consistent notes from my last 2 or 3 posts on this great Muscadet!! — a year ago

Domaine de la Touraize

Arbois Terres Bleues Savagnin 2020

This is delicious
It has the verticality but with million of shades
Not an extreme version of Jura or Savagnin

From grepfruit to basil
Nutmeg to wet stones, like a river bed
White pepper that reminds of a Gruner

It's long and the bottle is too small

More later but wow is this stunning as I remember. So refined and elegant. Unreal fruit, granitic lift and length. Genius. Ahh, so gamey, meaty, olivey and feral now with great sweet fruits and a silky texture. Gorgeous. — a month ago

Les Pierres Dorées Pinot Noir 2016

A French Pinot Noir, which is interestingly grown in Beaujolais. Begins with a welcome balance of fruit and earth on the nose with raspberry and cranberry along notes of mushroom and black pepper.  These flavors continue onto a very well balanced palate which has an a lively vein of acidity running though it. A perfect pairing with creamy truffle steak penne! [4/29/23] ($35) — 2 years ago
