Smells like 18! Concentrated and macerated dark cherries. Just so many. Almost jammy but not quite. Some nice leather notes. So much material. Super sleek, refined and concentrated. Bursting with mid to late season cherry fruit and wonderful sap and purity. Showing so well. A big wine but super balanced. Pierrick did a great job in 2018. — 10 months ago

I’m completely smitten, and while it may still be too early to call this the best young Burg I’ve had this year, it’d be a hard one to beat. “Extreme Aromatics,” was what I proclaimed when it first graced our glasses. The perfume was just so intense that you’d struggle to keep your nose in the glass, and so wildly complex that it was just otherworldly. It was like a perfumer’s dream; a top shelf Extrait de Parfum. Think roses, orange blossoms, ripe cherries, garam masala, bergamot, black tea, and hints of herbs/stems. Just insane! On the palate, it really exemplified “power without weight”. Incredibly concentrated and textured, yet totally effortless to drink. Pure with just the right amount of juiciness. For me, it felt very nearly complete, despite its youth and promise for more with time. Bravo, Thomas. Bravo. — 4 months ago

Been a few years and this is drinking so well now but no rush at all. Nose is sour cherry and mid season cherry and lovely earthy minerals. Very fragrant and a hint of confection. Palate is sleek and juicy and very refined. It is a bit short but air will lengthen it I think. Juicy and elegant airy lovely purity and balance. Awesome depth and grainy, elegant tannins. Needs air to go higher. Let’s see what happens.

Very good 18’s here. Deep luscious wine with deep blackberry and black cherry fruit. Furry tannins and lovely mineral freshness. Nose is insanely complex and deep with stones, black cherry liquer, black cherry essence, spice and dark florals Really great. Wonderful mouthfeel and a tiny bit of heat that I hope resolves with air. — 8 months ago
