Prima Cuvée

Laurent-Perrier

Cuvée Rosé Brut Champagne 1812

NV. Slightly dirty intro. Settles down appreciably. Consistently classical. 3.4.26. — 2 days ago

Domaine Ponsot

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2023

Somm David T
9.2

This is nice but not the showstopper of their other Grand Cru. Leaner, soft, nicely ripe berries-lead with raspberries, cherries, strawberries & some pomegranate. Nice red and pink roses. Excellent acidity, elegance, balance but not the perfect structure & length of the other Grand Cru-Griotte. Chambertain. — 6 days ago

Domaine du Pegau

Cuvée Réservé Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2020

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Both days outstanding but slightly different experiences. Day 1 was about power. Day 2 was about balance. The 2020 “Cuvée Réservée” pours a brilliant garnet with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with heady, slightly funky notes of ripe brambles, garrigue, red & purple flowers, bacon fat, licorice, and dry rocky earth. On Day 2, everything was more open nit and the fruit showed more bruised with a slightly stewed profile. Lavender was the predominate floral profile too. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is textbook Pégau and I love it. Drink now through 2045+ — a month ago

La Cuvée Brut Champagne Blend 1812

NV. So easy to slide into. Approachable and clean with some hints of what beckons beyond this price range. 3.4.26. — 2 days ago

Gundlach Bundschu

Mountain Cuvée Sonoma County Red Blend 2021

This really is delicious, and well worth the $21 I paid for it. Tons of berries, blue and red. Excellent structure with a firm finish that becomes so nice after a bit of airing. Making birria, which will be very good with this wine. Last time I had this I gave it 8.9 but today it's more deserving.

There is a lot of value to be had in the sub 25€/$ category. Takes some time to weed out the bad ones but once you find something that matches your palate your in business 🚀🚀

Cuvée des Enchanteleurs Brut Champagne Blend 1996

Very mature a disappointment for the vintage . Had a 1985 the week before and it was more youthful. Not the best vintage for this cuvée. I have tasted this Champagne a few times — a month ago

Domaine Tempier

Cuvée La Tourtine Bandol Mourvedre Blend 1995

Pristine cork (3/4 dry), ripe redfruits (surprisingly still quite primary at age 31), generally soft tannins, some bottle sweetness is also front and center, then some garrigue and just a trace of bitterness at the very back end, super long, lingering finish, while I believe this will cellar further, it’s fantastic right now, so if anyone has this La Tourtine, it’s worth opening a bottle!! @Rene Van De Beek Nee. Mooie wijn, maar te hoog in zuren vonden verschillende proevers. En stond naast de geweldige 2017 Wagner Stempel GG Heerkretz 😏
