One of finest vintage yrs for this estate, as evidenced by the OPULENTLY RICH PV component. Jeffersons terroir and taste of place are evident in this bottle… Think somewhere in between Paso Robles Cab and Rhône GSM. - very unique finish. Delish and a real value! $28 at Wegs — 4 years ago
This is my last of 4 bottles of this gold medal winner. PV is what Jefferson specializes in and this one still sings as beautiful with 6+ years of aging — 5 years ago
2021 vintage. Classic Napa Cab without all the current bells and whistles. Eye on the prize. Medium body with balanced bouquet and shows across the entire palate. It’s Cabernet like this that built Napa into the 800 lb gorilla that it is. 79% Cab, 8% PV, 7% Malbec, 6% Merlot. 4.3.24. — 2 years ago
A surprise addition of the night. A great blend, about 75% Cab, 14% merlot with CF and PV filling in the remainder. Plum, blackberry and fig show through nicely. Touches of vanilla. — 4 years ago
Wine Nerd herd virtual tasting of various vintages from 90s, 00s and 10s - mine was the 2013 - 88% CS, 8% PV, 3% merlot and 1% CF from various vineyards in the valley floor region - four hour decant - this is less fruit than you would expect but certainly an amazing wine - Napa finest at a modernist style Bordeaux blend - nose was rich with tobacco leather cocoa and forest floor - heavy to medium body yet the wine was soft because the fruit was muffled - mid palette with black blue and red fruits - orange peel cinnamon and sweet silky tannins integrated nicely - this could easily go 30 more years but not sure it will get better so if willing to decant and maybe even double decant for an afternoon this wine is ready for being paired with a cowboy bone in rib eye steak and will not let you down - truly an enjoyable experience as was all vintages tasted last night - HUGE SMILES — 5 years ago

Wow!! Still so vibrant and articulate at 13 years old… This field blend of 2nd/3rd choice selections is, in excellent harvest, better than 98% of other vineyards best first choice barrels. 46 Merlot… 31CS, 15 PV, 8% cab franc. 10. Provided such rich sugar, but Jim was able to maintain structure and phenolic equal by picking at the right time. — 2 years ago
So not much has changed in 3 yrs since first trying this in the tasting room. The profile is lean and linear. 69 CS 16 Merlot and the rest PV. This clearly the weakest build of Jeff’s run of left bank builds. The 2014 was classic, so not huge numbers for the CS. THE TEXTURE IS LOVELY though. ;) 90+ for sure, keeping the streak ALIVE!! — 5 years ago
Ron from VA
2017 was a special vintage… adequate heat, but isolated, micro climate coolness at night. This allowed for some properties to produce an acceptable standalone Cabernet Sauvignon. this build was not a reserve, but it still had balance and utility. I suspect there was a bit of PV blended in for added structure/tannin. Nevertheless, the overall complete product was delightful and paired wonderfully with dinner. (burgers.!!) — 4 months ago
