“Ojo Gallo’, Castellano for ‘rooster eye’ (in other words, what the French call ‘oeil de perdrix’), hearkens back to the traditional clarete style of the region. This dark rosé (light red?) is a field blend of very old vines of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Bobal, Monastrell, Viura, Albillo and Malvasia co-fermented in cement and raised for 8 months in used barrels before bottling without added sulfur” — 4 years ago
The community of Saint-Estèphe has it roots in the Gallo-Roman origins of this chateau. A blend of 78% Cab Sauv, 20% Merlot & 2% Petit Verdot. Deep Ruby with aromas of dense sweet black fruits with herb and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry, currant like, with tobacco, tar and hints of vanilla exposing mushroom notes. Well balanced, ripe textured tannins, long finish ending with earthy character. Nice, has plenty of room to develop. — 7 years ago

Wine is a little too barrel forward but still nicely done. Hint of rich dark jammy fruit but a little leather/baking spice. Flavor is lightly fruity with some assertive tannin and warming vanilla/spice that doesn't overstay it's welcome. I would definitely drink this again. — 4 months ago
Blend of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe red and black fruits with spice and sweet notes. On the palate very jammy blackberry and ripe cherry, has a sweetness probably from a cold soak or extended maceration, notes of cacao and espresso also on the palate. Fine chewy tannins, medium+ finish ending with robust fruit, cacao and spice. Organic! Good value! — 3 years ago
This is a sweet wine with lots of flavor. It tastes just like what the label says sweet peach. I keep buying it because its very good! — 6 years ago

Zin sounded right on this cool, rainy day. Totally rewriting my review after an hour. A big whiff of sour fruit (not bad). Thinner mouthfeel than i expected. The taste is dried fruits: prune, dates, apricot. Chocolate, licorice, sweet things. There in an odd charred element, a bit like pipe tobacco but burned. Not terribly off putting, but I do think it's getting tired. 11 years! @Doug Powers That's like senior citizen old!
