Okay basic grocery store sauv option — 9 months ago
While its name doesn’t sound like an SB from NZ, it sure tastes like one. Pronounced passion fruit, a little green apple, and more lime than other Sauv Blancs. Refreshing and great value at TJs. — a day ago
A blend of Cab Sauv, Merlot and Syrah. Deep Ruby with aromas of black and red fruits and floral spice aromas. On the palate black cherry and blackberry flavors with licorice, espresso and sweet oak spice. Smooth and refined tannins, long ending with fruit and sweet earthy tones. Consistent quality and good value. — 10 months ago
Really light sauv - not strong flavors and well balanced — 2 months ago
Classic NZ label. Smells funky. Lawn just cut or a piece of fresh grass in the teeth. And lemon citrus peels. Flavors are complex and very audacious. Bombastic even. Plenty of citrus, but something else as well. Shells? Like the calcium carbonate in those. Also big gooseberries. This is a good example of how NZ Sauv Blanc differs from the other styles out there. This wine packs a punch. — 7 months ago
Deep ruby with aromas of dark fruit, sweet spice and herbs. On the palate of this mostly Cab Sauv with a splash of Cabernet Franc (sometimes they use Merlot), sat on French oak for 18 months, about 30% new, deep Ruby with aromas of berries and rich spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with tobacco spice, toasty oak and floral notes. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice, oak and mineral character, Nice, should age well. — 2 years ago
