Jessie's Zin Mount Bullion Vineyards Zinfandel 2017

Mount Bullion Vineyards Casto Oaks Jessie's Zin 2017, Sierra Foothills, California

A very pretty color of ruby with a wide reddish rim, and medium plus intensity.

Dry and fruity on the palate with medium acidity.

Showing black plums, cooked cherries, blueberries, blackberry pie, spices, light oak, vanilla, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and red chili pepper.

This 5 year old Zinfandel is drinking very nicely now. Spicy and smoky. Fruit forward and intense.

Good right out of the bottle, easy drinking, and good for parties.

Spicy with mild complexity. Soft and supple. Rich and interesting.

Peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will pair nicely with a burger.

15.3% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

Zinfandel 2019

Dense purple color with a raspberry colored rim Aromas of maraschino, cherry, blueberry pie, violets. On the palate, wow. So different from the rich juicy Zinfandels I’ve had in the past. This is light and tart. Great acid, no tannins, so drinkable and it gets better and better as you drink and inhale the aromas — 3 months ago

McKahn Family Cellars

Shenandoah Valley Grenache 2019

McKahn Family Cellars - 2019 Grenache - WOW! I love Grenache and this is definitely my new favorite!!! this is just about the perfect wine. The nose is blueberry pie fresh out of the oven. The initial palate is loaded with big ripe black and purple fruit and berries. This is so good and complex. Blackberry, boysenberry, plumb, ripe sweet juicy grapes fresh off the vine, and a hint of raspberry. Then comes the earthy tones of graphite and oak. There is a hint of chocolate and spice in the background. The finish is dry and absolutely no sourness anywhere. This is a true gem!!!!!
Fantastic job McKahn family!

Shake Ridge Ranch Amador County Barbera 2017

Rich, dark purple in the glass. Shy, reticent nose of dark pie cherry, and tobacco. Smooth, (perhaps too smooth) and ripe (perhaps too ripe)… definitely “New world” in style. I think perhaps Barbera needs a bit of roughness, wildness, primitiveness to balance the fruit. Still a nice accompaniment to hot Hawaiian pizza and late-summer heirloom salad. — 3 years ago

Mount Bullion Vineyards Casto Oaks The Dream Mourvèdre 2019, Calaveras County, California

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity.

Strong nose of black cherries, black plums, black currants, cherry pie, light oak, spices and milk chocolates.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long skinny legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, light oak, licorice, spices, light alcohol, chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very tasty Mourvedre from california. Spicy and entertaining. Feels like an elegant California Zinfandel. Interesting stuff.

This 3 year old is already showing nice complexity, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 3 to 5 years.

Fruit forward and tangy. Elegant and very pleasant.

Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle. A good party wine as well. Good by itself or with food.

A blend of 93% Mourvedre with 7% Syrah. Aged for 21 months in neutral French Oak barrels. A small production of only 115 cases.
